This exciting project marks our fourth collaboration with esteemed main contractors McAleer and Rush, showcasing our growing reputation as a trusted tiling company for large-scale construction projects. Based in Greater London, this venture represents our first step into Liverpool, highlighting our expansion beyond South East England to meet the needs of main contractors across the UK.

A Groundbreaking Student Living Project

This ambitious development involves the construction of a 420-unit, purpose-built student accommodation spread across seven storeys. Designed to achieve a BREEAM Very Good rating, the building prioritises sustainability and student wellbeing. It will feature expansive communal spaces, including a recording studio, a half basketball court, a fitness studio, a library, and even a zero-waste shop—catering to the modern student lifestyle.

The project employs innovative offsite manufacturing methods, such as light gauge steel frame structures and bathroom pods. These techniques enhance onsite efficiency, minimise material deliveries, and lower carbon emissions while accelerating the construction timeline. For ABM Tiling, this presents a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality tiling services that align with cutting-edge building practices.

Transforming Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter

Located on Upper Duke Street, the site—previously home to the vacant Hondo supermarket—sits within Liverpool’s vibrant ‘Knowledge Quarter’. Adjacent to the Ropewalks Conservation Area and the iconic Liverpool Cathedral, this development will breathe new life into the area while respecting its historical and cultural significance.

Externally, the project boasts impressive landscaping features, including two private courtyards, a private dining area, an outdoor bar, a performance stage, and a tranquil space for yoga, meditation, and study.
