ABM Tiling Continues Legacy at Hammersmith Town Hall with Terrazzo Restoration

Following the completion of tiling to the new build apartments and pedestal and rail systems to the balconies of Hammersmith Town Hall, ABM is thrilled to embark on the next chapter: restoring the original Terrazzo staircases and lobbies of this iconic building. Our team will not only rejuvenate six grand staircases spanning multiple levels but also craft new, bespoke Terrazzo that harmonises with the historic elements, ensuring a flawless transition between the old and the new.

Project Highlights:

• Restoration of Stair Cores: We're committed to bringing back the original splendour of the staircases through a meticulous mechanical cleaning process, repairing cracks, and fixing damaged step treads. Our approach includes creating bespoke samples for larger repairs, ensuring every detail matches the building's original aesthetic, with the cooperation of Architects and the Heritage team.

• Bespoke Terrazzo for Corridors: In collaboration with In Opera Group, we are designing custom Terrazzo flooring for the corridors, featuring a lighter shade complemented by a darker border and skirting. This design not only pays homage to the original style but also enhances the modern renovation.
